Supporting survivors since 1977.
Humboldt Domestic Violence Services has been serving the communities of Humboldt County for over 40 years. Our goal is to create an environment that supports individual safety and breaks the cycle of intimate partner and domestic violence.
Founded on the basic principles of consensus-based empowerment and non-violence, we have continually expanded our services through the years to assist all those escaping from partner abuse. Our agency seeks to provide service and support to those who are transitioning out of domestic or intimate partner violence and to foster social and systemic change through services, education, and advocacy.
HDVS helps hundreds of survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence every year in a wide variety of ways. Perhaps we can help you or someone you care about who suffers from abuse or the threat of abuse. All of our services are free and confidential.
Here to help.
We offer a number of different services to survivors should they seek help from us. From individual and group counseling to restraining order assistance, we are here to help you get where you need to go.
Backed by a passionate and dedicated board.
Each of our board members carries with them unique personal and professional experiences that help inform their work with us. You might catch them out and about in the community volunteering their time at food distributions or with local youth groups!
