Mobile Outreach Program

Mobile Outreach provides residents the opportunity to access county services without traveling to Eureka. Visitors to the Mobile Outreach bus can be assisted with applications for the CalFresh and Medi-Cal programs, as well as receive referrals for a range of services that support veterans, older adults, families and individuals. In their visits to outlying communities, Mobile Outreach is regularly joined by staff from the Mental Health, Public Health and Social Services branches.

Welfare-to-Work

Welfare-to-Work is a program within the CalWORKs that assists families in becoming self-sufficient through employment. All adults in the family, or assistance unit, are required to participate in the development of, and participate in, their unique employment plan for self-sufficiency. The plan is prepared following state requirements, the individual’s unique skills and incorporates local employers, nonprofit agencies, and education/training resources. Welfare-to-Work offers numerous services to assist families become self-sufficient.
