LGBTQ2S* Resources

LGBTQ2S* stands for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, queer, and two-spirit. LGBTQ2S* communities experience many barriers when addressing intimate partner violence (IPV). Those barriers are emphasized through homophobia, transphobia, and the patriarchy. Violence can also be heightened when people are faced with racism, ableism, or prejudice based on being undocumented.  The access to resources and services for LGBTQ2S* communities experiencing IPV are limited and often have harmful expectations of what IPV “should” look like. In reality IPV can happen in any relationship to any gender and actually happens at higher rates for LGBTQ2S* people. Below is a list of growing resources.
