Strive for healthy relationships in my life by refraining from using any form of physical, emotional, or psychological violence in any of my relationships

For most people, physical abuse is obvious. Most people can truthfully say that they have never physically abused another person. However, it’s important to know that abuse is not only physical. It is more than pushing, punching, slapping, kicking, or throwing things. Abuse can also be emotional or psychological. Some examples of emotional or psychological abuse are using insults or put downs to make someone feel bad about themself, and controlling someone by trying to prevent them from seeing their friends or family. Please review the Power and Control wheel below. It is called the Power and Control Wheel because all abuse arises from one person wanting to have power and control over another person. Each segment of the wheel explains a different type of abuse.
